Arbor Vitae Wellness is a healing center in Maine.

The story began in February 2020 (yes, that year). We had just signed a lease for a business studio when everything shut down due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We were still furnishing the new space and had boxes to unpack. As every ecosystem of our planet took a breath before the plunge and the seams of society showed themselves, we too navigated that year of change. We eventually re-opened in November of that same year with the pandemic in full swing.

Some people thought we were crazy opening up a massage therapy practice in the thick of the pandemic. We felt that the healing power of therapeutic touch was more important than ever, and our clients agreed. We were confident in our ability to provide exceptional services while also maintaining a safe atmosphere. We did not have a single incidence of transmission in our studio, which continues to this day. Massage Today magazine even reached out to us for an interview and published an article about what it was like starting a massage practice during the pandemic!

The primary focus of our work is to help you create more mobility/ability in your body. We help you release tension by engaging your kinesthetic awareness in a unique way.

Thumper the dog

Thumper is the unofficial therapy dog of Arbor Vitae Wellness. He is a big friendly pup and is very good with toddlers, children and other dogs and people. He loves making new friends and will greet you with affection when you arrive. He loves tummy rubs! He also a huge fan of naps. He is often in the studio during sessions, where he calms right down and sleeps on the floor through the entire service. People are continually amazed at how calm he is.

If you have any questions, or are uncomfortable with dogs in any way, please contact Zeb and let him know. Please note NO other dogs are allowed in the office (unfortunately!).
