Happy summer! It’s not official yet, but when it’s 80˚ outside let’s call it for what it is. I am certainly welcoming the warmth and sun and all the vitality it brings!
AVW is currently going through the process of becoming credentialed with the VA (Veteran’s Affairs). This means if you are a veteran, you may be eligible to receive massage therapy through your VA insurance! Massage therapy is a proven and non-invasive way of treating and mitigating the effects of chronic pain, headaches & migraines, reducing the necessity for so many pain medications, reducing stress, promoting healthier sleep, reducing muscle tension and so much more.
If you are a veteran, speak with your PCP at the VA about receiving massage therapy during your next visit. If you have a family member or friend who is a veteran, please let them know they can receive massage therapy under their coverage. (Please note this is not in place at AVW yet. This is a heads up for what will be coming in the months ahead.)
Once credentialed AVW will also most likely be shifting to a new booking software company, along with updated AVW contact information. When in place, these announcements will be made again in a following newsletter.

AVW to start accepting VA insurance coverage for massage therapy later this year!
Starting later this year, Arbor Vitae Wellness will begin to accept insurance specifically for veterans through Veteran’s Affairs. This means if you are a veteran you may be eligible for massage through your VA insurance!
We are all so very happy the VA has begun to recognize the invaluable benefits massage therapy can provide for veterans dealing with chronic conditions such as chronic pain (low back, neck, etc), headaches, migraines, numbness / poor circulation and more.
If you are a veteran, to have massage therapy covered by your insurance you will simply need a referral from your PCP. Speak with your PCP at the VA about receiving massage therapy during your next visit. Also, if you have a family member or friend who is a veteran, please let them know they can receive massage therapy under their coverage!
Please note this is not in place at AVW yet. I am currently going through the bureaucratic hoops of getting all this set up. I anticipate AVW will be able to bill for VA insurance by mid-late summer. I will continue to post updates as we move closer.

Updating AVW booking software and more, summer 2024
Within the next couple months AVW will most likely be changing over to a new booking software company. (Currently we use Vagaro.) Along with this I will be phasing in an updated company phone number and contact email address. These will officially be announced in a future email. Stay tuned!
